No Turning Back
Outward is constantly auto-saving, meaning: You can’t reload to a previous state when things don’t turn in your favor. You have to become your character, better think twice.
Not a Standard RPG
The game breaks conventions to offer a unique type of experience. You, the player, aren’t the chosen one: you are an adventurer, a traveler, an explorer. And most importantly, you are vulnerable.
Ritualistic Spell Casting
To cast spells in Outward, you have to know the steps to the ritual and perform them in order yourself. You may need a sigil or a magic circle in order to cast your spells.
